01 / GLUCOSE
Where it is—and where it might be heading
A single reading can mean something different depending on direction, timing and what happened before.
Type 1 diabetes asks you to make decisions all day, every day—while the factors behind them keep changing. DiaBuddy is exploring how those decisions could feel clearer and less overwhelming.
Early-stage research, shaped with the T1D community
Problem-led, not feature-led
Built around real life with T1D
Research before assumptions
The invisible workload
A food choice isn't just about carbohydrates. A glucose reading isn't just a number. Each decision sits inside a changing mix of context, timing and lived experience.
01 / GLUCOSE
A single reading can mean something different depending on direction, timing and what happened before.
02 / FOOD
Portion, composition, timing and uncertainty all join the decision.
03 / INSULIN
Insulin on board adds another layer to what happens next.
04 / LIFE
Movement, sleep, stress, illness and hormones can all shift the picture.
THE REAL PROBLEM
The work doesn't end when a decision is made. It starts again at the next meal, the next reading, the next unexpected change.
What we're exploring
DiaBuddy is being shaped as a companion for everyday Type 1 diabetes decisions: a way to bring the factors that matter into one clearer picture and reduce the mental effort of piecing them together.
We are at an early research stage. We are listening first, testing the problem and learning what would genuinely help before making promises about the product.

An underexplored variable
Many women report that menstrual cycles, pregnancy, perimenopause and menopause can make glucose patterns and insulin needs feel less predictable.
We want to understand those experiences better—without assuming every woman is affected in the same way, or pretending the answer is simple.

I'm Suzanne, founder of My DiaBuddy, and I live with Type 1 diabetes. I started DiaBuddy because I wanted the kind of support that recognises the full reality of daily decisions—not just isolated data points.
I don't want to guess what other people need. That's why this stage is about listening: learning where the greatest burden really sits, whose needs are being overlooked and what useful support could look like.
